Role:


  • Autism (ASD) Specialist Teaching Assistant
  • Preston (outskirts)
  • Full time position, ASAP
- £65 - £75 per day, £12,675-£14,625 annual salary
- 'Good' school


Requirements:


  • An experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant who has worked with young pupils on the Autism spectrum.
  • A strong understanding of the autism spectrum and how to use specific IEP's to provide effective support to this pupil.
  • Able to keep the pupil focused on their work and be aware of any particular triggers that may cause a behavioural reaction.
  • Have a variety of deescalating techniques to help control the pupil and the situation, should it arise.
  • Working with SEN pupils has to be a passion, as everyday will propose different obstacles for you to overcome.
  • Have resilience and tenacity to persevere as this will be key in succeeding in a very challenging and emotionally testing position.
  • Although challenging, it is hugely rewarding seeing a pupil progress under your guidance and makes all the tough times worthwhile

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained
  • You must have legal right to work in the UK
  • You must be willing to attend a registration interview
