We are hiring experienced AUTISM SUPPORT WORKERS IN WALSALL.

Previous experience working with SEN Education is required.


As an Autism Support Worker, you will become part of the lives of our service users and their families and make a positive change.


You may be part of a team who every week, plays and supports our service users in a fixed setting.


You may be part of the team of community support workers who support our service users in their homes and local community.

DETAILS

Resources for Autism is a charity, established in 1992. We are experts in the field of support and activities for our service users ensuring they have optimum life chances and access to the community. We work across London and the West Midlands, and we are looking for support workers who lives in Walsall and have previous experience working with special need (as a support worker or as a teacher assistance).


Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and support an autistic child and help them reach their potential, either in a group or at home, in a professional and caring manner.
  • Be reliable and punctual when working individually in the community or when part of a team and supporting colleagues to do their jobs.
  • Actively plan and join in play and youth activities including swimming, ball games, messy play and music.

Be willing to work evenings and Saturdays when families need our support most.

  • Be prepared to communicate differently with a wide range of people.
  • Keep records and write reports when required of sessions.
  • Ensure the highest level of safety and safeguarding at all times.
  • Monitoring and evaluation responsibilities, which could include feeding back to line managers about the progress of the child you are feeding and any other relevant feedback.
  • Work with the team to ensure you successfully pass your probation, attend the training which is required and maintain a professional attitude at all times.
We are happy to hear from applicants looking for part-time work (up to 18 hours per week)

All positions include working at least one weekend day every weekend.

When working in the community, travel time is paid between families.
