Senior Estimator - South Devon**Are you a highly skilled and experienced Estimator looking for a new and exciting opportunity? We are seeking a talented individual to join our client's team as a Senior Estimator with preference given to those with a background in Design & Build. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the planning and execution of construction projects, ensuring accurate and reliable estimates are provided for design and build contracts.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for evaluating project requirements, analyzing architectural plans, and developing detailed cost estimates for design and build contracts.

You will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing and feasibility of proposed construction projects.

Additionally, you will provide expert guidance and recommendations regarding cost-saving measures and alternative solutions.

Responsibilities:

Analyze project plans, specifications, and scope of work to develop accurate cost estimates for design and build contracts.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to determine project requirements, materials, and labor costs.
Conduct comprehensive takeoffs and quantify materials required for each project phase.
Utilize advanced estimating software and tools to streamline the estimation process and enhance accuracy.
Identify potential risks and challenges that may impact project costs and propose mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with project managers to review and negotiate subcontractor bids and proposals.
Provide expert advice on costsaving measures, value engineering options, and alternative solutions.
Prepare detailed and wellstructured cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead expenses.
Present estimates to senior management and clients, addressing any queries or concerns.
Monitor project progress and compare actual costs against estimated costs, providing analysis and recommendations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Design and Build Estimator, with a focus on complex projects.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
Proficiency in using industryleading estimating software and tools.
Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and presentation abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced, deadlinedriven environment.
Professional certifications or memberships (e.g., RICS, CIOB) will be an advantage.
