An exciting opportunity has arisen to join HEIW's growing Planning and Performance team as an Administrative Assistant, providing support to a range of staff within the team.

This is a new post and the postholder will have the opportunity to help shape this service and make a real difference, supporting the team to achieve its strategic aims and objectives.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.


The Planning and Performance team is responsible for leading the strategic and organisational planning, crisis and business continuity planning, performance management and programme management processes for HEIW.

The team is also responsible for leading a number of specific change and transformation programmes linked to the Integrated Medium-Term Plan (IMTP), including biodiversity and climate change and Education and Training Plan.

The postholder will work directly to the Performance Manager, and on a day-to-day basis with the Admin Officer, to support development and delivery to admin support across the team:

Providing secretarial and administrative support to the Planning and Performance team and working closely with the Band 4 Administrative Officer on a day-to-day basis in order to deliver effective and high-quality administrative support.

Taking accurate notes for a wide range of meetings and events.
Managing the generic directorate mailbox and maintaining manual and electronic systems.

Managing multiple tasks simultaneously and organising workload effectively according to demands and priorities.
