PURPOSE OF THE JOB


To be responsible for and support the delivery of a customer focused service to applicants interested in or allocated to, the council's void properties, including general needs, sheltered, extra care, temporary accommodation and hostels voids.

Ensure that applicants are able to exercise choice over their home in the case of general needs properties.


To ensure that properties are let according to the council's policy and that new tenancies are administered to ensure a successful tenancy process.

To provide a comprehensive voids service to all households.

  • To provide a visible and approachable presence in Southwark's Voids service, including Temporary Accommodation and Hostels
  • To work closely with all housing services, Council Departments, health professionals and third
sector.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibilities:


  • To provide a customer focussed and approachable presence in Southwark's voids service to include temporary accommodation and hostels.
  • To be the first point of contact for any void related issues. To lead on face to face, telephone and written communication with residents.
  • To process the termination of properties, including management of keys, raising work orders to the contractors and record property information on the relevant database.
  • To ensure correct information is sent to Housing Options to enable the property to be advertised and update iWorld as necessary.

Job Types:
Full-time, Temporary contract, Temp to perm

Contract length: 12 months

From £17.90 per hour
