Fracture clinic are excited to announce a vacancy for a 12 month secondment Nursing Associate to join our team based in the Nottingham Treatment Centre.


You will be joining a friendly and supportive team, who work closely with the variety of different disciplines within Trauma and Orthopaedics.

Our Fracture Clinic is part of the speciality of Trauma and Orthopaedics within the Surgery Division. We are forward facing providing outpatient care to Trauma and Orthopaedic patients.

Care is provided to a very diverse range of patients including trauma, major trauma, elective orthopaedics and plastic surgery patients.

Successful applicants must be flexible in your approach to practice, thrive in working in a fast paced environment, have excellent communication skills, and be able to lead and drive forward change ensuring patient care is at the heart of everything we do

The service operates on a 7-day roster system between 08:00 - 20:00hrs, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

An informal visit is recommended.

Main duties of the job


As the Nursing Associate you will be required to maintain an awareness of the developments in the care and treatment of patients in order to be able to carry out duties competently and efficiently.

The Fracture clinic cares for Orthopaedic patients ranging from follow up appointments and traumatic injury.


Being part of our team you will have the encouragement and opportunity to work across clinic developing skills within our treatment room and the plaster room.


We offer an induction programme where staff are expected and encouraged to complete local casting training and develop wound management skills.

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience of delivering nursing care to a group of patients.
  • Supervision of nonregistered staff or students.
  • Experience of working with wider Multidisciplinary Teams (MDT).
  • Desire and passion for the speciality.
Physical Skills

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrate competence and accuracy in undertaking clinical skills, using equipment and documentation.
  • Able to perform the full range of nursing duties required for the role.
  • Competent in relevant Information technology (IT) skills, including use of IT devices and systems.
  • Evidence of current moving and handling training.
Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Diploma or Degree in health/nursing related studies.
  • Current level one NMC registration.
  • Competent in Medicines Management.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
