Support Worker in PE19

£11.50 per hour
About the service user

We are looking for a support worker for our 12 year old son who lives with ASD and anxiety.

A enjoys spending time at home, engaging in activities such as playing on his Nintendo, exploring games like Pokemon, watching movies, listening to cassette tapes, playing with fidgets and constructing with Lego/K-nex.

He also enjoys trips out with his family.

Hours and rate of Pay

52 hours to be used at weekends and school holidays.£11.50 per hourEnhanced DBS clearance is essential.

What you would be doing

Support will initially be in the family home or supporting the family when accessing the community.
The aim of the support is to gain some new skills such as going to the shops with a small list of items to buy and paying for them allowing him take the lead while you guide him, you may take a bus ride, generally helping to build confidence in social situations

The person I would like

Someone who has experience of supporting others with a learning disability.

Someone who is willing to be interactive and encouraging in order to improve and develop skills, you will need to be proactive while supporting as A reacts well to structure, you should have the ability to offer simple but precise, clear instruction, so clear spoken English is important to aid this.

If you can drive and have access to your own vehicle, that would be great so that you can meet the family at different places of interest.
