Leader Education is currently recruiting for a number of Behaviour Support Workers for a SEMH specialist school in Halifax.


The job:


  • Providing support to students with SEMH in a classroom setting
  • Working in close partnership with SENCO and the designated safeguarding lead to promote positive outcomes and academic progression
  • Working in close partnership with the therapy and communication team
  • Forming strong relationships with children and young people, and their families, which influence them to regulate their behaviour and emotions
  • Helping students in achieving the objectives set out in their Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP), by adopting a positive behaviour support approach
  • Ensuring the best quality of education and support for each student.

You:


  • Have previous experience in working with children with SEMH needs
  • Will be patient, nurturing, resilient and empathetic to students' individual needs
  • Have the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with the child/children that you work with
  • Have a passion for teaching and learning with the ability to make learning enjoyable and fun
  • Are a motivated and enthusiastic person with great communication skills
  • Will ideally be Team Teach trained but not essential free training is available
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team but can also work independently using their own initiative.
