Description

Our client, a highly revered Glasgow based plc in the sports & leisure sector, seeks an Internal Auditor. This is a newly-created and varied opportunity to support the Head of Internal Audit in a fast-paced, dynamic business.

Working as part of a close-knit specialist team, your primary responsibilities will include:

Completing audit assignments, both financial and operational, across all departments and processes throughout the Company
Ensuring audits are completed to internal audit quality standards, within budget and on a timely basis.
Review the effectiveness and efficiency of existing internal controls, carrying out testing and continuous monitoring, and identifying any process control gaps and/or improvement opportunities.
Carrying out risk assessments and identifying new/updated process controls to minimise or eliminate risk exposure.
Working closely with the Head of Internal Audit on all compliance management matters and best practice.
Preparing detailed documentation and workflow mapping of processes, maintaining progress tracking system
Documenting and reporting findings, issues, and suggested improvements to the Head of Internal Audit and senior management.
Building strong, effective relationships with stakeholders across all levels.

Ideally you will have:

Demonstrable experience in external or internal audit with relevant experience of completing assurance/consulting reviews, including those across financial risks and controls.
Experience of dealing with multiple senior stakeholders and building positive stakeholder relationships.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills (both verbal and written) with experience of preparing detailed reports
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills combined with commercial acumen, pragmatism and a good sense of diplomacy.
High attention to detail.
