***Professional design and consultancy practice within the infrastructure industry is looking for a
Senior Energy and Carbon Consultant** with an interest in smart cities strategies/large scale renewable installations/ communal batteries/associated electrical infrastructure and a wider interest in embodied carbon or circular economy or green infrastructure.


You will join a team of 80 and work very closely with clients, engineers, architects and academic practitioners to consult/deliver Net Zero innovative infrastructure of scale (Stations, estates, new developments) and sustainability strategies.

Your role responsibility is to deliver low carbon programme to infrastructure clients at a design stage.


5 Years' Experience In:

  • Working with heat networks, thermal storage and low to zero carbon technologies (including heat pumps, CHP, PV).
  • Carrying out energy audits of existing buildings and advising on energy efficiency measures.
  • Preparing Sustainability and Energy Statements for planning.
  • Undertaking feasibility studies, reviewing different options against whole life carbon and cost criteria.
  • Working in multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Energy consulting, mechanical or electrical engineering.

Requirements:


  • A relevant degree in mechanical/ electrical engineering or similar.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership and member of CIBSE, EI, IMechE, IET or similar.
  • Specialist expertise in designing energy infrastructure for smart cities/
  • Technical building services experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of low carbon heating solutions and renewables.
  • Up to date policies and guidance relating to sustainable development.
  • Excellent project management, financial management, and organisational skills.
  • Experience in understanding opportunities in relation to sustainable development.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
Programmes

  • Proficient in energy and carbon modelling using SAP, PHPP and IES (or other dynamic simulation).
