Be Enriched creates spaces for communities to come together and connect over a healthy and nutritious meal.

Our community canteens serve meals every week using donated surplus food and offer a social sanctuary for everyone to enjoy.

We work with supermarkets, green grocers, and markets to reduce and redirect their usable surplus food to our projects where we utilise chefs and volunteers to cook up a delicious lunch.

Canteens improve well-being and develop a stronger sense of belonging, particularly for those who are elderly or socially isolated. We create spaces where everyone is welcome using a whole community approach.

Our canteens bring people together to enjoy a meal without the stigma of receiving a handout.

We know that there is high need in these difficult times, and we serve a variety of vulnerable groups, including older people, those affected by addiction, ill mental health, lower or no income parents and asylum seekers, and those who are unemployed.

Key Responsibilities for E & C and Clapham Cube Canteen:

Working with canteen group to create and plan out menu.
Support canteen group to assign roles and guide cooking.
Maintain safety and cleaning protocols.
Ensure kitchen is cleaned and secured upon completion.
Ensure any kitchen reports/paperwork is completed.
Ensure any meal donations are collected from guests and accurate numbers are recorded.

Key Responsibilities for Tooting Canteen:

Work with Canteen Leader to ensure volunteers are supported and roles assigned.
Ensure meal donations are collected from guests and accurate numbers are recorded.
Support canteen group in food prepping if required.
Lead logistics for food pick up, distribution of unneeded ingredients, unused ingredients.
