We are excited to offer the role of a Dietetic Support worker within our Child Health Team.

You will work alongside our dietetic support workers and dietitians to ensure a high-quality dietetic service for our infants, children, young people, and their families.

No previous experience of working in this setting is needed as you will receive an initial period of training. An interest in nutrition and working with children is required as well as a willingness to learn. Good communication skills are essential.


You will support clinical and non-clinical dietetic activities alongside the Child Health Dietitians and will also develop specialist knowledge around the management of cows' milk allergy and the delivery of the home enteral feeding service.

You will work closely with the Dietitians to build your skills to be able to carry out clinical and non
- clinical duties. These will include supporting the delivery of the cows' milk allergy pathway, organising, and supporting the delivery of enteral feeding equipment for children receiving tube feeds in the community, monitoring and reviewing nutritional care plans, ordering samples of nutritional products for children, and maintaining ward stock of nutritional products.

You will be based at the Royal Preston Hospital.

You would join a team of over 35 experienced and forward-thinking Dietitians, Dietetic Assistants and Administrative staff.


Our Child Health Dietetic Team covers a busy general paediatric department that includes inpatients, outpatients, MDT clinics, group education sessions, the neonatal intensive care unit and community home enteral feeding.

We are well established within the children's and young people's division and work closely with all members of the MDT.

  • To work as part of a clinical dietetic team (child health) delivering quality dietetic care under the supervision of a qualified dietitian
  • To have clinical and nonclinical responsibilities in the delivery of quality care to the patients within a defined clinical area.
  • To support the delivery of the cows' milk allergy pathway
  • To liaise with 3rdparty providers to ensure the provision of enteral feeding equipment to children who receive enteral tube feeding in the community.
