Description
1.

Communications and Relationship skills - (Factor 1) Establish and maintain effective communication with individuals and groups, developing appropriate methods of communication relevant to particular client groups, recognising verbal and non-verbal methods of communication.

Have an understanding of the concerns and anxieties of women attending for symptomatic mammography and follow up assessment, and provide appropriate levels of reassurance.

Recognise and deal appropriately with women or patients who may occasionally be angry or aggressive.

Attend staff meetings to receive information and feedback. Deal with verbal complaints at a local level, and refer unresolved or written complaints to the designated individual.

2 Analytical and Judgemental skills - (Factor 3) Assimilate information gained from observation and use this to adapt procedures for client and patient management.

Ability to assess and knowledge of how to proceed when faced with discrepancies between NBSS system and paperwork.


3 Planning and Organisational skills - (Factor 4) Organise own workload and participate as required in the general departmental duties assigned to each member of staff.

Pro-active in ensuring timely completion of tasks (stock control). Structured workflow plan when working in the hub in the base unit. To organize and maintain clinical stocks in within screening clinical rooms.
