About the role


As Head of Payments you will lead the transformation of our payments function and client experience, leveraging industry best practice to deliver a scalable and fit-for-purpose best-in-class solution.

You will be responsible for significant business transformationdelivery activities and will lead the change in their function.


What you'll be doing

  • Leads coach and motivate a mediumsized Service delivery function (4060FTE) to deliver outstanding client, business and colleague outcomes
  • Development and implementation of an appropriate strategy to deliver our transformation without degrading service levels
  • Contributes to the strategic direction and objectives of the wider Service function
  • Accountable for ensuring service delivery targets (SLAs, QA, Complaints, breaches etc) are met, delegates effectively and escalates issues where appropriate
  • Monitors and reports to the HOD on performance and trends and defines the "path to green" where performance is outside target
  • Driving an effective risk and control environment to ensure good client outcomes, in particular the effective design and operation of processes and controls and management of risks
  • Highly adept in creating innovative improvements for the HL payment processes, products and systems
  • Understands and complies with relevant regulation and legislation and keeps knowledge up to date
  • Promotes an inclusive and diverse culture where learning, development and colleague engagement is a priority; supports career progression and development opportunities in the function and the wider Service Teams to maximise colleague engagement and retention
  • Effectively leads, drives and communicates operational change initiatives in conjunction with other leaders in Service, translating complex messages into engaging stories
  • Leads and forms strategic relationships of key vendors, partners and other third parties ensuring that SLAs are met and delivery is effective
  • Works in collaboration with the Vendor Management team to gain efficiencies

About you

  • A resilient leader with significant operational experience within an FCA environment.
  • Regulatory compliance knowledge and broad knowledge of the asset management industry and external environment (regulatory, competitors, technology, economic and financial markets, etc.)
  • Understanding of open banking, multibank cash and management, CASS and PSR.
  • Significant leadership experience within operational or clientfacing environments
  • An engaging communicator, with experience of managing managers and mediumsized teams to drive positive outcomes for clients, colleagues, and the business
  • Proven experience of delivering transformational change
  • An effective and engaging communicator, able to present complex information in simple context, adapting your style to suit your audience
  • Analytical and solution focused mindset with the ability to use own experience to develop innovative solutions and resolve complex issues
  • With a collaborative style, accomplished at forging effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels

Interview process
The interview process will entail 2 stages, including a presentation and psychometric assessment.


Working Schedule
We are based in Bristol, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

For this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of working from home and coming into the office.
