Head of Psychology and Therapies/Consultant Clinical Psychologist

Hours:
Full time (40 hours a week)


Location:
Baldock Manor Hospital, Baldock, Hertfordshire


Salary:
from £55,000 per annum (Depending on experience)


About the role:


To be the clinical lead for the psychology and therapies services across the hospital, ensuring systems and processes are in place to provide high quality, safe and effective NICE evidence-based interventions and to ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist psychology and therapies service to all clients in admission to the hospital.


About Baldock Manor Hospital:


Baldock Manor Hospital is a 36-bed mental health facility for adults in various settings (a Female PICU, Rehab and Elderly High Dependency Unit).

Responsibilities:


  • To represent psychology and therapies services in forums and meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the team and to ensure that systems are in place and working effectively for the clinical and professional supervision and support of all other psychology and therapy staff within the team.
  • To include clear systems for effective recruitment, professional appraisal, supervision and the identification of CPD needs across the staff group in the psychology and therapies team.
  • To be the clinical lead and oversee the coordination and provision of training placements for trainee psychotherapists, honorary assistant psychologists and other staff as required.
  • To carry out audit, policy and service development and research activities and/or programmes within the service to ensure the delivery of a highquality service with a sound basis in best clinical practice.
  • To propose and implement policy and service development changes within the areas served by the team/service.
  • To ensure provision of the necessary service activity records and reports in a timely and organized fashion and to ensure that the team members within the service area are using the appropriate information recording systems in accordance with the company policies and other relevant professional policies.
  • To ensure compliance with the company policies and procedures in a variety of areas and to report on the key performance indicators relevant to the services of the team to the relevant internal and external stakeholders inclusive of the Company Board, Commissioning Bodies, CQC and others as required.

Essential:


  • Must have experience working as a Clinical Psychologist
