What does the Automoney Collections job look like?
Automoney is one of the UK's leading specialist HP providers based in Redditch, West Midlands. Our goal is to become the market leader in the UK by 2026.

You will work in a dedicated team responsible for the management of motor finance customers, primarily assisting those who have fallen into arrears but also providing a support service for general customer enquiries.

The Company is committed to delivering an exceptional customer experience by providing excellent personal service through assessing each customer's individual circumstances and providing the most suitable solution whilst working within a regulated environment.

You will join our highly successful collections team which has considerable experience and is highly respected in the industry.

What are the main responsibilities?
As a collector, you will have a varied role, where your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting customers from the onset of payment difficulties until rehabilitation;
  • Proactively contacting customers to discuss current arrears and establish dialogue;
  • Responding positively, empathetically and promptly to varied forms of customer contact;
  • Providing solutions by negotiating tailored treatments for each and every customer;
  • Completing income & expenditure assessments to demonstrate affordability of arrangements;
  • Using skills and knowledge to ask open questions and, if necessary, challenge information gained;
  • Acting with sensitivity and recognition of customers in potentially vulnerable positions;
  • Escalating cases to default and subsequently, if applicable, obtaining recovery of the vehicle;
  • Liaising with third parties throughout the arrears management process;
  • Acting as first point of contact for customer complaints and recording the details accurately;
  • Undertaking security checks and vehicle checks using various in-house and external search tools;
  • Maintaining consistency and adherence to strict Company policies and all regulatory guidelines.

What we look for from our Motor Finance Collectors

  • Be educated to a good standard of secondary education including Cgrades in Maths and English;
  • Be driven and selfmotivated;
  • Be quick to establish rapport and effective in communicating with clients and introducers;
  • Have the ability to multitask;
  • Be able to work towards and deliver to targets and deadlines;
  • Be able to deliver excellent customer service;
  • Be exceptionally well organised;
  • Share our values and attitudes;
  • Aspire to the highest professional standards.

What are we looking for in our successful applicants?
Experience in the specialist finance sector is preferred but not essential as you will receive full training. We want people with drive and the desire to deliver world-class customer service. That way we ensure that our customers have the best possible outcome and experience with Automoney.

Experience tells us that people from a collections, customer service, call centre or similar background adapt most quickly to working in a specialist HP lender like us.

However, most of all we are looking for people with great attitudes and great values.

Thirty six years of experience tells us great collectors have our values in their souls and we cannot train that.

Either you have it or you don't.

We want to recruit good collectors with the potential to become great collectors and then become outstanding performers who consistently deliver world class service to each and every customer.
