ScotRail have 4 maintenance depots throughout Scotland responsible for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of more than 600 vehicles. Vehicle types are varied and include the most modern types of Traction and Rolling stock within the UK. All vehicles are maintained to the highest quality and engineering standards resulting in a challenging working environment.

An engineering team member working within a flexible engineering team. Responsible for carrying out rail vehicle movement, driving and shunting, servicing and repair of diesel multiple units. Reports directly to the Team Leader. All responsibilities will be carried out in compliance with local Safety & Quality Procedures and SOM 200.

A highly motivated individual who is a team player.

Must have a flexible outlook and be willing to learn new skills for the benefit of the team and the organisation.

Must be able to adapt to new processes.

Proven track record and experience of working in an engineering environment. Must be willing to learn shunting and driving procedures. Formal engineering and shunting qualifications would be desirable. Ability to drive road motor vehicle is desirable.

Hours of work: 35-hour week. A rotating three shift cycle, which involves day, back and night shift. Weekend working is compulsory.

Reference Salary:
£45,300 per annum on completion of training, training salary £43,865 per annum.
