We put their needs at the heart of everything we do.

We're investing £14.7million into Children's Social Care in Oldham as part of our commitment to giving workers the resources they need to work effectively with children and families, including reduced caseloads.

We are now looking for an inspirational senior leader with the relevant skills, knowledge, and experience to join us as we move forward in our improvement journey.

You must be able to lead, develop and maintain strategies, activities and policies for the achievement of high standards of safeguarding, quality assurance, social work practice and performance, including workforce development, recruitment and retention.

As the Assistant Director you will manage several key services, contributing to the strategic direction, impact and overall performance of Children Services whilst providing support and advice within statutory frameworks ensuring the service and its partners are focused on improving outcomes for children and young people and ensuring they are kept safe from harm.

If you join us, we will develop and reward you for your expertise.

We will make sure you have access to support and professional development opportunities to continually improve your practice and advance in your career.

What can we offer you?

  • Generous relocation packages.
  • Support with your Continuous Professional Development

The life experiences and challenges facing our children and families are incredibly varied and require an inclusive response which recognises their unique strengths and engages with them to achieve solutions.

Here in Oldham, we are committed to systemic practice, with a focus on building relationships with children and families, understanding context and family dynamics, and reflectively learning together, always improving how we work.
