Teaching Assistant

Position:
Full-time, with reasonable commute to in or around Greater Manchester.


Salary:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support the delivery of high-quality education and assist in creating a positive learning environment for students.

This role involves providing individual and small group support, assisting with classroom activities, and helping to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide support to students during lessons, helping them to understand instructions, tasks, and concepts.
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Work with small groups of students to reinforce learning, provide additional support, and facilitate activities.
  • Help to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Assist with behaviour management strategies and help to promote positive behaviour among students.
  • Support students with special educational needs or disabilities, implementing individualized support plans as required.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and engagement.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as recordkeeping, organising resources, and preparing displays.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred)
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an SEMH independent educational setting is desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to take on a variety of tasks
  • A passion for education and a commitment to supporting student learning and development
