We are proud to be home to the latest series of 24 Hours in A&E - Channel 4's flagship primetime documentary series.

In 2020, the Queen's Medical Centre hosted the first series of the award-winning documentary to be filmed outside of London.

A second series has now been commissioned and we are looking for a passionate, creative and experienced Senior Communications Officer who will lead the latest series through pre-production, filming, post-production and airing.

Main duties of the job

You will have experience working with the media and the ability to establish strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders while managing a busy workload and responding to conflicting priorities as required.

Given the close working relationships that you will build in this role, you will act as the communications lead for the Emergency Department, supporting them with media handling, internal communications and content creation for a variety of channels, including our social media channels and website.

As a key member of the external communications function, you will report to the External Communications Manager and support them in the delivery of proactive and open media management and stakeholder engagement.

Working for our organisation

Our teams at NUH make a difference every day and we are proud to play a central role in supporting the health and wellbeing of people in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and our surrounding communities.

We provide a range of national and internationally renowned specialist services and we are at the forefront of new surgical procedures and research programmes.

We are home to the East Midlands Major Trauma Centre, Nottingham Children's Hospital and in partnership with the University of Nottingham we host a Biomedical Research Centre carrying out vital research into hearing, digestive diseases, respiratory, musculoskeletal disease, mental health and imaging.

We support flexible working and will agree a way of working that supports you and NUH.

You will be based at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham and will work across all Trust and external sites as needed.

You will be part of the out-of-hours on-call rota for the communications team, for which there is an additional payment.
