TITLE:
Recovery Support Trainer and Coach


SALARY:
£32,058.00 p.a.


HOURS: 37.5 hours per week


BASED AT:
Worthing, West Sussex


REPORTS TO:
Programme Manager


ABOUT THE ROLE:

You will work closely with our Programme Manager and Senior Management Team to deliver a rolling programme of recovery support workshops to individuals in structured treatment for a substance use problem, or who have recently finished their treatment journey.

You will be mostly based in Worthing, West Sussex, although you may be required to deliver the workshops in other locations.

Over time, you will recruit and train a small cohort of volunteers to support the individuals accessing the Recovery Support Programme to improve their health and wellbeing and build sustainable support networks.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:


1.
Programme Management


Ensure the current suite of workshops are delivered on time, to a good standard and within the guideline set by the charity.


With the support of the senior management team, update the existing and write new workshops for the Recovery Support Programme as and when required.


Support the individuals accessing the Recovery Support Programme to make improvements in their health and wellbeing, access appropriate mutual aid support, and maintain their recovery from a substance use problem.


Deliver training, supervision, and support to a small cohort of volunteer recovery coaches who will support you in the delivery of the programme.


Work closely with the Build on Belief staff team and the local treatment provider to ensure the programme benefits as many individuals as possible.


2.
Administration


Ensure data recording, report writing, incident reporting and all relevant paperwork is completed within expected timelines and delivered to a high standard.


Ensure that accurate records of attendance at each activity delivered are kept and provided to the Administrator on a weekly basis.


Prepare a report for the Senior team once every eight weeks on the day-to-day operations of the programme, including activities and outcomes.


3.
Human Resources


Work with the Programme Manager to deliver regular support and supervision sessions for the volunteers supporting the delivery of the programme.


Work with the Programme Manager to ensure staff cover is provided when Build on Belief staff and volunteers are unable to deliver an on-line activity.


4.
I.T.
Ensuring that Build on Belief I.T. equipment is used for the purpose provided, and within the policies and procedures of the charity.


5.
Communications, including website and social media


Work closely with the Programme Manager to ensure the timetable of workshop delivery is kept updated and promoted to the contractors of Build on Belief, local service delivery partners, as well as being promoted on the charities' website and through its social media feeds, where applicable.


Preparing updates on new and current activities for the Programme Manager to be used on social media sites and the Build on Belief website.

Maintain good communications internally and externally with local partners, commissioners and other key stakeholders and contacts.


6.
General.

In carrying out the above duties the post holder will:

Work closely with the Programme Manager and Senior Management Team to optimise the development and delivery of the On-Line Activities Programme.


Follow the charities policies on:
Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality, Data Protection, Health and Safety, Financial Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures.

Undertake other duties appropriate to the role.

PERSON SPECIFICATION CRITERIA

About You


You have the experience and skills to work independently both in a drug and alcohol treatment service and at head office and are keen to join a team working hard to help some of the most disadvantaged people in society.

Having lived experience of substance use problems is not essential for this role but having empathy with our cause is.


You have a clear understanding of addiction, addiction treatment services and recovery, and some knowledge around recovery support systems, mutual aid and improving overall health and wellbeing.


You have some experience of both group facilitation and the delivery of training workshops in the fields of homelessness, mental health, or substance use.


You will have experience of working with individuals who have, or have had substance use problems, and a clear understanding of the challenges that can arise when working with this client group.
