Payroll Administrator

£22,000 - £24,000 per annum pro rata for reduced hours

hours (Flexible, can be worked over 3,4 or 5 days)

Tytherington, Macclesfield


We are looking for a Payroll Administrator for an initial period of 12 months (maternity cover) to process a weekly payroll using our Merit software.

Role will report to our Financial Controller and will be supported by our Payroll & Purchase Ledger Manager.

Specific Duties

  • Processing timesheets & holiday pay claims on a weekly basis for entry into Merit payroll software
  • Processing of weekly payroll to required timetable ensuring all workers get paid on time
  • Build strong relationships with the Ops team ensuring that all timesheets are submitted promptly and payroll related queries are addressed in a timely manner
  • Set up of weekly payroll journal
  • Deal with RTI submissions
  • Updating NEST auto enrolment pension records
  • Work with Payroll Manager to reconcile weekly payroll to control accounts
  • Work with Payroll Manager to respond to any HMRC enquiries
  • Work with Payroll Manager in relation to payroll year end returns and reconciliations
  • Other ad hoc finance duties as requested
