Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

The responsibilities for the role are:

Develop a full working knowledge of the monitoring, analysis and reporting of the organisation's market risk exposure on a day-to-day and long-term basis for the Commodities desk.
Develop a full working knowledge of the production and analysis of daily and longer-term profit and loss (P&L)
Understanding of the code behind the teams reporting tools
Improvement of the desk processes, looking for opportunities to increase efficiency and enhance the control framework.
Point of contact on the designated workstream for Risk Management for Sophis Upgrade.
Creating appropriate test packs and reviewing outcomes.
Perform UAT testing for system upgrade, key deliverables (P&L, Exposure reporting, VaR, Stress Testing etc)
Gathering and co-ordinating requirements from the Risk Desk Heads/Product Owners for Commodities, including both the identification and execution of any necessary training in both Sophis 6 and Sophis 7 to the Risk Team.
Deliver, upgrades to UDAs to ensure they are fully functional and accurate as part of system upgrade.
Contribute to development of risk management systems.

Qualification/Education

Essential:

University Degree (2:1 or above) in a quantitative field, preferably (financial) mathematics, engineering, physics, econometrics or computer science

Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

5+ years of experience in the financial industry Experience in market data and associated challenges for Commodities Indepth product knowledge of Commodities, Commodity derivatives, and associated pricing models Strong Experience in market risk management and product control Experience in market risk management and product control Experience in working on Risk Management Application migrations/upgrades and acceptance testing. Advanced development skills in VBA, SQL, Python or higher language
