This is a part time, permanent role.

Are you passionate about food preparation and cleanliness? Are you reliable, hardworking in a physically demanding post with a keen eye for detail?


The role is for a 30-hour Kitchen Porter / Food Service Assistant position to work Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4.30pm, with only occasional weekend working.


You will be working as part of a team; you will need to demonstrate good customer care and possess the ability to assess problems quickly and be able to come up with practical solutions

You will
- be working as an important part of a small kitchen team to deliver safe and high-quality food in a clean environment.
- assist with food preparation.
- serve customers in the Restaurant or in any of our Hospitality functions, catering units, so good communication skills and excellent customer service is essential for this role.
- assist with effective delivery of service and standards across all catering units.
- ensure that all required cleaning duties are carried out to the highest standard and in line with Food Safety standards and Birkbeck procedures.
- assist with effective stock management by ensuring stock reciting is accurate, stock is rotated as per guidance.
- provide exceptional customer service consistently.


The shifts will be between Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm.

There are occasional need of weekend or evening working in line with business needs. Notice will be given in advance.

Remuneration:

Annual salary £18, Actual) FTE hrs per week (Pro rata of 1 FTE £21,808 per annum). The salary quoted above is based on the London Living Wage.
