Tester/Quality Control Engineer

Permanent Position

£35,000-£40,000 Per Annum, 28 Days Holiday Per Year (Increases with Service), Pension Scheme, Employee Awards Initiatives, Overtime, Private Healthcare Scheme, Training and Career Development.

Tester/Quality Control Engineer

  • Perform and sign off on all quality checks and test operations using our IT system.
  • Adhering to all Health & Safety requirements.
  • Carrying out in depth testing of stator windings.
  • Monitoring vibration and temperature.
  • Perform load & off load testing.
  • Measuring & performing operation checks on motor auxiliary equipment.
  • Using any equipment vital to test a motor (multi meters, Meggar, Baker tester, data collection).

Tester/Quality Control Engineer

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications:


  • Ability to set up motors, pumps & gearbox units to enable comprehensive testing.
  • Ability and knowledge of working on three phase, single phase and AC/DC units.
  • Ability to operate and test generators, transformers, and variable speed drives.
  • Ability to understand and work from technical drawing and documentation when required.
  • Understanding of both metric and imperial measurements.
  • Knowledge of EMIR, Excel & Outlook.
  • Knowledge of machine finishes & runout.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of our team.

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualification:


  • 46 years of practical experience testing a wide range of electrical/mechanical equipment, including high voltage equipment.
  • A time served apprenticeship within the electric motor industry.
