Position:
Fabricator Welder

Salary:
£15 - £16.50 Dependent on experience.

Location:
Sandy, Gamlingay


Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for a Fabricator Welder (preferably TIG leaning) to begin work for a leading manufacturing and production business based in Gamlingay, Sandy.


Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional Fabricator Welder to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the factory's function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work.


You will be responsible for:


  • Tig Welding Stainless Steel between 2mm and 5mm into a wide range of structures, producing strong, clean welds suitable for machinery to be used in the food industry
  • Checking dimensions and thicknesses
  • Reworking and/or repairing welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes
  • Reading engineering drawings
  • Using appropriate PPE
  • Reading, understanding and implementing Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Operating tools and machinery and welding equipment
  • Cutting and grinding metal
  • Cleaning tools, equipment and work areas
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested by your line manager
  • Fabricator welder apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Experience of Tig Welding
  • Experience of use of lifting equipment
  • Manual handling training
  • Able to read engineering drawings
  • Proactive approach to safety
  • Use of hand tools
