About The Role:

National Gas Transmission (NGT) has an exciting and important role in net zero and in leading a fair energy transition for the UK. We will do this by developing the green gas system of tomorrow, while delivering the natural gas needs of today.
The Security function here at National Gas delivers a holistic security service to the whole of the organisation.


Due to continued growth within the Security functions, we are seeking a Technical Author who will provide technical authoring capability by taking documentation from a variety of sources and combining / refining sufficiently for a regulatory lay person (non-technical language).You will liaise with Security and Security project leads, developing and refining the detailed security strategy, reviewing and refining external materials including business plans, reports, and risk assessments.

About You:
  • Expertise experience as a Technical Author
  • the ability to transferring engineering / security language for the lay person to understand


  • Stakeholder management skills

  • Internal and External and these will include OFGEM, DESNZ, NPSA and NCSC
  • Experience of security asset management in Gas Transmission / Critical National Infrastructure would be highly beneficial
