Our client is a highly respected mutual within the Income Protection arena across the UK market.

You will be pivitol in helping us to deliver outstanding practices and ensure that service is at the very forefront of our offerings.


_What you'll be doing:
_

  • Underwrite new and existing business in line with the strategic and client goals
  • Support new business relationships by providing financial advisers with presales underwriting guidance
  • Working with the Head of Underwriting and underwriting colleagues, providing input into established underwriting processes and practices
  • By maintaining an awareness of the importance of risk management, to bring any matters of concern to the attention of the Head of Underwriting

_Your skills:
_
You must have worked in a protection underwriting role, preferably with exposure to Income Protection products

  • A supportive team member with a friendly character
  • Highly motivated with a passion for driving positive change and customer experience
  • Maintains underwriting knowledge with industry and market changes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential

What you'll be doing:


  • Demonstrate and promote a thorough knowledge of company guidelines and authority levels in order to achieve profitability and underwriting objectives
  • Provide excellent service to partners,
  • Underwrite renewals including large and complex cases within the defined underwriting authority.
  • Develop team members' technical knowledge through mentoring, day to day underwriting referrals and exposure to underwriting risks.
  • Maintain an understanding of, and adhere to Data Protection Act, Anti-Money Laundering regulations

What we're looking for:


  • Have a demonstrable underwriting experience ideally Income Protection
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrable IT skills including MS Office
  • Proven track record of customer service, passion for driving positive change
