Our client is seeking to take on accounts assistant to oversee a number of offices based in the UK, this role will be based in the General Ledger section of the team and be responsible for meeting the accounting requirements we have for these companies.

This is an ideal role for someone who is just starting out on their finance career and we can help support them in obtaining their accounting qualification during their career with the company

Key functions of the role are:

Review and processing of purchase invoices (including B&A and travel & expenses claims) on system and in line with group procedures, including liaison with suppliers.

Maintain all the bank accounts held in the UK, including regular reconciliations.
Perform Supplier statement reconciliations & liaise with Documentation Centre.
Assist in maintaining accounting records for UK & Ireland companies.
Maintain fixed asset registers.
Assist Accounting Manager with half year & year end reporting, preparation of VAT Returns & adhoc reports.
Support Logistics senior accounting assistant with monthly tasks on an adhoc basis.

To be studying (or willing to start) or just completed an Accounting qualification.
Work as part of a close team and independently as required.
Has excellent attention to detail.
Able to work under pressure when required.
Good communication skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Knowledge of accounting software is an advantage.
