Overview

A key role in Campaign's quest to grow its position as a vital source of inspiration for the creative industries and celebrate the creators behind the best work


Working with the Creativity & Culture Editor, the Work & Inspiration Editor will cover creative work, talent and company culture, and inspirational industry trends, including sustainability and the environment.


The editor will curate Campaign's online work section to ensure it is an archive of the best advertising creative in the UK (and, where relevant, beyond) and will find and write about the most inspiring examples of creativity and people in advertising and the broader creative industries.


Responsibilities:


  • Writing regular news and features for the website
  • Spearheading Campaign's efforts to engage with and celebrate emerging talent
  • Maintaining and building relationships with leading creatives
  • Highlighting the best examples and developing trends in work culture from across the creative industries
  • Monitoring and writing about the increasing importance of sustainability
  • Curating the work section of Campaign's website and helping to maintain a high level of creative judgement on the brand
  • Feed into the daily Creativity Fix bulletin and help grow its reach
Skills / Experience / Knowledge / Minimum Criteria


Essential

  • This is a role for an enthusiastic journalist with at least three years of experience covering commercial creativity.
  • Knowledge of the major players in the advertising industry is essential.
  • The key skills required for the role are the ability to:
  • Build and maintain important contacts throughout the advertising and creative industry
  • Generate exclusive stories
  • Write fast, crisp, accurate copy
  • Spot upcoming trends and rising talent
  • Use analytics and realtime data to inform editorial decisions
  • A willingness to learn and grow from other members of the team.
  • The ability to present and interview on stage, on audio and on video would also be an advantage.
  • Editorial
integrity is vital to report rigorously and fairly on companies that may happen to be commercial partners of Campaign.


Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Write for Campaign's site in the UK, delivering exclusive stories and covering key developments in the advertising and creative industry including those which will be reproduced on, or adapted for, Campaign sites around the world.
  • Work with the news editor and other colleagues to ensure there is fresh and interesting content about creative work across Campaign's suite of bulletins each day.
  • Write content about advertising and creative communications, workplace culture and sustainability for the print edition of Campaign in the UK.
  • Expand Campaign's coverage of and relationships with emerging talent
  • Work with colleagues, including the Creativity & Culture Editor and reporters, to ensure Campaign's work section is the definitive online archive of the best ads from the UK.
  • Ensure Campaign's work, work culture and sustainability content helps to drive Campaign's strategy of growing its known audience, including loggedin users
  • Support the commercial, Content Labs, events and awards teams where necessary.
