The job exists to provide sustainability consultancy and service line management in the HDR | Hurley Palmer Flatt sustainability division.

Working across the division and services to perform a management, support and delivery function.

Assisting to manage and ensuring the services meet the needs of our Clients and are delivered successfully against internal requirements.

To effectively manage delivery of the sustainability service line activities whilst; co-ordinating with internal divisions and project teams, other project disciplines and the client.

Support, advise and direct internal and external project teams in achieving their modelling related solutions. Proactively mentor and direct junior colleagues to ensure their professional development and task delivery is successful.


RESPONSIBILITIES
At all times and / or with an appropriate member of the division's leadership team or designated person:

  • Undertake day-to-day service line project delivery and management responsibility for nominated team members including but not limited to project management, development of fee proposals, client liaison and leadership at project meetings, project interviews, briefing and company quality audits and assurance. Undertake or input to Personal Development Plans for your service line team as and when requested.
  • Professionally, proactively and successfully manage with support all aspects of your specialist division's activities and services.
  • Ensure successful management and delivery of modelling services to our Clients' in a timely, integrated, and technically proficient manner.
  • Proactively participate and manage team development activities, transfer of knowledge, and mentor junior colleagues to support the achievement of individual, team, performance, and development objectives.
  • Maintain and nurture good working relationships with colleagues and project team members.
  • Proactively seek input from within your division, or the project teams, to enable successful completion of your responsibilities.
  • Maintain professional accreditation(s), awareness and understanding (e.g. CPDs) of relevant industry standards, regulations, legislation and policies appropriate to the services of the division.
  • Identify opportunities to invest, develop and offer new services within your service line Team and to support the technical delivery and offerings of the company as a whole in line with market requirements and expectations
  • Understand the relationship and process of task delivery in relation to fee, resources and allocation of hours to ensure a timely delivery, meeting the objectives.
  • Accurately maintain and a wide range of manual and computerised records/management information, media and quality systems, providing guidance to junior colleagues to meet the required business standards.
  • Handle a wide range of tasks, projects and queries, for all activities to meet service standards, and when assigned be the point of contact.
  • Manage the gathering of data and financial information related to service line tasks to ensure the successful production of service line deliverables, and management reporting of service line performance.
  • Effectively work independently or as a part of a team to meet business requirements, as required both within the office, remote working environment and during site visits.
  • Maintain appropriate level of courtesy and professionalism in dealing with other people, both internally and externally, with the ability to ask questions and exchange information using tact and diplomacy to achieve a satisfactory outcome.
  • Undertake management and completion of administrative tasks relating to any part of the business as required, for example: timecards, marketing, HR and procurement.
  • Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the grade of the post.
