Description

Strategic Leadership Work with the Chief Pharmacist to provide professional leadership for Pharmacy Services to the Trust and other external customers To develop strategic and innovative plans for the pharmacy operational services across the Trust and ensuring these are aligned to the overall Trust and Pharmacy strategy Patient Care To ensure all pharmacy operational staff are trained in customer care and adhere to the highest principles of customer services when dealing with patients, staff and the public.

To promote pharmaceutical care for all patients Financial & Resource Management To manage the High Cost & In-tariff drugs Budget for the Trust To manage the delegated staff budget for pharmacy patient services and ensure that pay expenditure is maintained within allocated targets Staff Management To have overall management accountability for the Aseptic & QA services provided by the department, Operational Services including outpatients, Homecare Services, Pharmacy procurement and Stores.

To ensure the effective management of all staff managed according to pharmacy management structure Research & Development To actively encourage clinical and practice development research across the department.

To critically engage in research activity, adhering to good research practice guidance, so that evidence-based strategies are developed and applied to enhance quality, safety, productivity and value for money.


Governance To be responsible for ensuring Quality & Governance in the use of medicines is applied across the Trust To oversee Trust Medicines Governance structures ensuring support relevant meetings and reporting to Trust Board are in place, fit for purpose and supported / led.
