The Technical Writer Role


As we continue to expand into new territories, we're looking for a Technical Writer to ensure our published collateral is accurate and compliant with local regulations.

Your first responsibility will be to help us engage with certification bodies in France by documenting our product capabilities. Furthermore, you'll be responsible for building a culture of high-quality technical writing within the company. This involves working with various teams to establish best practices for documentation, providing training and support.


What you'll be doing

  • Research, outline, collate/ write, and edit content to the target audience.

For your first project specifically:

  • Produce collateral which articulates our product capabilities and purpose
  • Produce collateral which documents Guestline core development processes
  • Liaise with regulatory/ certifying bodies to provide appropriate documentation & proof points
  • Liaise with Guestline Product, Development and Customer Success teams to ensure content is clear, appropriate and accurate
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation; your style will be clear, economical and articulate
  • You may also produce artefacts as part of our gotomarket process these may be less technical in nature and require a less formal tone of voice

About you

We're looking for some important characteristics:

Essential

  • 3 years as an effective

Technical Writer:
showing clear experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for varied audiences

  • Excellent, clear and concise written communication skills whilst preserving attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly grasp key product features from discussions with Designers and Developers
  • Ability to explain complex technical ideas and domain specific concepts to your target audience
  • Have excellent teamworking and decisionmaking skills
  • Articulate, with clear and concise verbal and written communication skills

Desirable

  • Quick to learn new software
  • Systematic, disciplined and analytical approach
  • Experience with new media tools & Help authoring tools

Preferred

  • French speaker/ author
  • Have a solid background in a software development environment
  • Experience of working in an agile development environment
