Yorkshire Children's Centre are part of the Thriving Kirklees partnership which delivers commissioned health and wellbeing services for those aged We deliver 3 Thriving Kirklees programmes
:Healthy Start is designed to provide financial help to improve nutrition of families receiving certain benefits and mothers under 18 years of age;
Safety Rangers is a multi-agency, interactive, accident prevention scheme and is aimed at Year 5 pupils that live in Kirklees; and
Safety in the Home provides child safety equipment within the homes of eligible families within Kirklees.


We are looking for an enthusiastic new team member who is able to communicate effectively and respond to the needs of a variety of people, including those from local communities as well as partners and professional associates.

Hours of Work:25 hours per week


Salary:
£12.10 per hour - £10,486.67


Contracted post:
Fixed term contract Sept 2023 until April 2024

Our work is delivered through 4 themes of activity - Education & Training, Early Intervention & Prevention, Specialist Family Services and Social Enterprise activities.

Purpose of the the role - why the role exists and overall responsibility_

  • To support the Service Manager with the development and implementation of YCC's Thriving Kirklees services to improve the wellbeing of children & families and to ensure target communities' needs are met.
  • To support effective community engagement with other third sector organisations and partners to improve accessibility of YCC's Thriving Kirklees services and to raise awareness and knowledge of these provisions to overall increase uptake.

Main activities_

  • To ensure effective operational processes and procedures are implemented and followed for efficient service delivery and contractual targets and outcomes are adhered to.
  • To ensure both qualitative and quantitative data is collated and is readily available in a timely manner for monitoring purposes.
  • To monitor and report to YCC management on service delivery, including progress, outcomes, and any challenges and/or areas for improvement.
  • To undertake community engagement, networking, and information sharing
  • Develop strong working relationships with new and established service contacts, partner
- agencies and YCC services

  • To be responsible for maintaining stock levels
  • Comply with all relevant YCC policies and procedures
  • Undertake training and professional development as necessary in order to be able to fulfil the

Knowledge, training and experience required_

This role would suit anyone with an interest in public health, health inequalities and community development work.

  • GCSE/Level 4 or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Experience of using computer packages including word processing, databases, spreadsheets.
  • Level 2 qualification in childcare and development or equivalent experience in child development & health & wellbeing
  • Experience of working with partners and professionals in supporting the development of service provision and maintaining relationships
  • Ability to work across Kirklees and neighbouring areas as required

Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract
