Caseworker Housing
11 Month Fixed Term Contract, Maternity Cover, Full Time

What you'll do on a typical day:
- Provide housing advice to customers on the telephone and through correspondence.
- Liaise and work flexibly with our Homeless Prevention Team.
- Work effectively with other specialist teams across the council.
- Opportunity to expand into other areas within the case work team.
- Raising invoices, liaising with contractors, answering enquiries.
- Processing rent payments, handling rent queries and setting up direct debits.
- Managing customers on the housing register, working closely with our allocations team to secure properties for customers.
What you need to succeed in this role:
- A proactive approach, with strong administrative skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in dealing with people.
- Conscientious attitude and attention to detail.
- A good standard of numeracy and literacy.
- IT skills are essential, knowledge of any housing software such as Orchard or MRI (Jigsaw) would be beneficial.
- A working knowledge of the benefits system.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to take the initiative.

This role attracts a salary of £25,197 - £30,176 per annum and an annual leave entitlement of 22 days plus bank holidays.
