The H&F Schools Human Resources team has a great reputation, and we are passionate about delivering HR solutions to schools across the borough and West London.

The schools HR team run a commercially traded service and every school that buys our specialist services has a named HR Consultant who develops a close relationship with their client schools and provides a bespoke HR service.


  • We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic HR Consultant with great customer service skills to be the first point of contact in the inhouse HR team for allocated client schools within a team setting.
  • You will work closely and flexibly with school leaders to ensure that difficult HR issues are addressed promptly, effectively and sensitively, freeing their time to focus on the demands of running their schools.
- will provide a professional, responsive, high-quality business-focused HR service to our customers (schools) in a consultancy style, helping them to achieve HR solutions that are also in line with policy and process.
- be an excellent team player who can work collaboratively with the schools HR team and other colleagues in finance, safeguarding, legal and occupational health, to deliver a service that meets the needs of our schools.
- understand the importance of delivering excellent customer service within a commercially traded team.
- be able to build successful relationships of trust with school leaders.
- have excellent communication skills and the ability to convey information to managers on request in an appropriate format.
- be able to use systems effectively, entering, retrieving and collating data as instructed from relevant sources.

  • You will be an active member of the wider HR team and function, contributing to corporate HR duties as appropriate.


You will report to a Schools HR Business Partner, and you will work in close partnership with the team to ensure a joined-up service to schools.

This is a 36 hour per week fixed term role.


Role Responsibilities:


You will need to:

  • Develop key projects within schools HR, through a consultancy approach with clients.
  • Develop a plan to address people management issues in your schools, agreed with clients and your Business Partner.
  • This plan will have measurable milestones for the identification and design of interventions for improvements.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and options within your allocation of schools.
  • Deliver key projects and learning events for improving the effectiveness of services through improving people management practice, including management, organisational design, change management and continuous improvement.
