Hydrogen Innovation Lead - Business Development (£50,000 - £56,000):

About the role:

From the flame on your stove to the warmth in your home, National Gas Transmission plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable transmission of gas across the UK.
The coming years will be pivotal to the gas industry, particularly as we transition to no/low carbon alternatives including transporting hydrogen in our pipelines.
As our innovation lead in business development you'll be a pioneer in the Net Zero Transition, building the evidence to enable our UK networks to transport hydrogen and having positive sustainable impacts on our business and country.
The Business Development theme determines the potential opportunities for the energy system and how the national transmission system will interact with these; this includes research in a number of areas such as:
Hydrogen Blending
Synthetic fuels
Network design
Skills and Competencies
Whole system planning
As part of the critical, growing innovation team, you'll be at the forefront of our business plan. This is a fastpaced and evolving space a key element of this role is variety. As a true Swissarmy knife, you'll be involved in everything from project management to technical knowhow to dealing with the commercials.

About you:

You'll work closely with various other departments and external stakeholders to guide your decision making and be proactive in seeking this support and information as you use your engineering and analytical capability to enable the development of the UK's hydrogen transmission infrastructure of the future.
The most important thing is to have an interest in cleaner energy, and the ability to get things done.
General attributes sought:
Knowledge of energy system development and whole system thinking
Solid project management acumen
You'll be passionate about engineering and have an interest in Hydrogen.
You will enjoy working in a team to drive forward new technologies and solutions for the energy transition.
Curious mindset with an interest in hydrogen
Managing technical work streams and projects
Great at communication

What you can expect from us:

£50,000-£56,000 (dependent on experience)
26 days holiday plus 8 statutory days option available to buy extra holiday days.
Annual performance bonus of up to 6% of your salary.
