We're seeking a Strategic Site Team Leader to be a lynch-pin of our planning activity and support over 100,000 residents of East Hertfordshire in the growth and advancement of our district.

If you're an expert planning professional with team management experience, this is a fantastic opportunity to join our council's Planning Service.


You'll discover a District rich and diverse in character with attractive market towns and villages and special landscape, natural and built heritage features, including 42 Conservation Areas and over 3000 listed buildings.

The Role


Additionally, you will:

  • Ensure affordable housing is secured within agreements
  • Provide stakeholders with clear information, reports and briefs
  • Support the delivery of the public consultation process
About You

To be considered as a Strategic Site Team Leader, you will need:

  • Experience of supporting or managing a team within a Development Management context
  • Significant experience of processing and defending large scale planning decisions
  • Knowledge of administrative and legal procedures of planning control in Local Government
  • At minimum a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • Full membership of a relevant professional body such as Royal Town Planning Institute
