Care Home vacancies (non-care based roles):
There has never been a more exciting time to join Halton Borough Council.

We are excited as a care home division to be involved in many projects, including the development of an electronic care recording system, recruitment of volunteers and plans for a refurbishment of all our homes.

Because of this, we are looking to recruit to roles within our homes that help bring value and happiness to the lives of elderly people.


THE ROLES

Activity Coordinator HBC2 - £22,737 - £23,114 FTE, £ £11.98 per hour

General Assistant HBC1 - £22,366, £11.59 per hour

Kitchen Assistant HBC1 - £22,366, £11.59 per hour


As an Activity Coordinator you will be key to ensuring that residents in our care homes are well looked after and happy.

You will support the lives of elderly people, exploring their history, building relationships with their family and having a positive impact on their life.

You will support the home by leading on activities, supporting residents with time in and out of the home and supporting care staff to prepare activities and carry these out.


As a General Assistant, you will have a key role within our care homes, ensuring a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the establishment, and promoting better health and quality of life for residents.

Your duties will include assisting in the preparation of meals, completing laundry and cleaning tasks and adhering to infection control procedures.

You will also support residents to live happy and fulfilled lives by undertaking simple tasks of personal care at a level agreed upon with the Practice Manager.


As a Kitchen Assistant, you will have a key role within our care homes, assisting the cook to prepare and serve high quality and tasty meals, promoting better health and quality of life for residents.

Your duties will include assisting in basic cooking and food preparation, serving food and general cleaning duties. You will ensure acceptable levels of hygiene are always maintained. You will also support residents to live happy and fulfilled lives by building good relationships with them.


All of our team take part in activities within the home that could be anything from a relaxing drink in the garden to a competitive game of boules, nothing is off limits You will be part of a supportive lively team who work together to help each other.


ABOUT YOU


You will be genuinely enthusiastic about providing person-centred and strengths-based care to our elderly residents, supporting them to enhance their health and well-being and live meaningful lives.


Professional or personal experience in the requirements for any of our roles would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.

  • St Lukes, Runcorn, 56 bed Nursing home providing Dementia nursing care.
  • Madeline McKenna 23 bed residential home in Widnes
  • Oakmeadow 29 bed reablement bedbased service in Widnes
