Defence Equipment
The Supervisor is based within our Defence Equipment business area.


Defence equipment stores, maintains, repairs and overhauls military vehicles and equipment so the UK army is able to train and deploy in a moment.

As well as supporting vehicles that are already in service, the team carries out vehicle assembly integration and tests new vehicles.


The role
The difference our new Supervisor will make, As a supervisor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will provide the first line management capability for our operational organisation.

To ensure the delivery teams have the people, tools and processes they need to safely deliver outputs against the plan(s).

Day to day, you'll be leading recruitment activities for roles in team (e.g. ATR submissions, conducting interviewing, ordering equipment/assets, completing new starter / induction processes). You will also be leading exit activities for team members (conducting exit interviews, equipment/asset collection/return, completing leaver processes).

Plus, conduct line manager activities in grievance and disciplinary procedures in line with policy (conducting investigations, lead hearings, first level outcome/decision maker).

Also managing employee welfare (providing information and support, hearing and addressing concerns and escalating where appropriate). Lastly managing performance of team members in line with policies (conducting informal reviews, objective setting, PDR processes

Essential experience

  • Previous leadership experience desirable
  • Full UK license essential
  • Competent with Microsoft
  • ERP experience desirable
  • Managing Health and safety desirable
  • Would suit Ex Technicians from Dealerships or service leavers
  • Lean, 5S knowledge desirable
  • Customer engagement experience
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Excellent Written and Verbal communication

- Must be able to obtain SC level security clearance.
