Nottingham Children's Hospital is looking for a registered children's nurse to work in our Children's Haemodialysis Unit.

This is a small specialist unit providing dialysis therapies for children and young people from within the East Midlands, East of England and South Yorkshire (EMEESY) kidney network.

To work in the Children's Haemodialysis unit caring for children and young people requiring renal replacement therapies. This is an autonomous role in a nurse-led unit with opportunities to develop specialist skills in a supportive environment.


Some therapies are undertaken in our children's critical care unit and there is a requirement to be part of a 24 hour dialysis on call rota.

The haemodialysis unit is based in Nottingham Children's Hospital within the Queens Medical Centre. We are the tertiary centre for the EMEESY network and we work with a large and supportive multi-professional team.


The haemodialysis nurses work very closely with a team of nurse specialists and the inpatient ward meaning there are opportunities for career and skills development.

Work regular hours Monday to Saturday in the haemodialysis unit and participate in a 1:8 paediatric renal nurse on call rota.

Qualifications:

Essential criteria

  • Registered Children's Nurse
  • First degree or evidence of study at that level
  • Mentor training
  • Leadership training
Desirable criteria

  • Post registration renal education
  • Masters degree
  • Nonmedical prescriber
Experience

  • Significant acute childrens nursing experience
  • Experience of nephrology nursing
Desirable criteria

  • Experience of haemodialysis

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
