Working Hours: 41 hours per week. Monday - Thursday 8am - 17:00pm, Friday: 8am - 3:30pm, with a 30-minute lunch break

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Design Manager to join our Pre-Construction team based at our Head Office.

Design Manager - Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the design process during the preconstruction and as required, the early set up of construction phase
- Manage the design input into the 1000 point checklists, Preconstruction journey and other Monday app management tools on all projects allocated
- Fully investigate Value engineering and value creation opportunities
- Interrogation of enquiry documents, in the form of an Employer's Requirements
- Production of a Contractor's Proposal document in liaison with other internal departments
- Manage our design process via external consultants
- Drive innovative and cost effective solutions into the design
- Progress design issues within a strict timescale & ensure designers meet information delivery dates
- Review Sub contractor design proposals
- Verify & control status of consultants and subcontractors drawings and specifications & maintain registers
- Ensure the consultant scope of services, responsibilities and fees are agreed
- Attend tender launch /tender adjudication and launch meetings as required
- Provide support and management to the preconstruction administrator
- Provide input to technical and buildable solutions from RIBA 25 prior to works on site
- Provide technical guidance to the schemes as necessary, e.g. fire regulation compliance, etc.
- Be a facilitator of the expertise in the Domis supply chain throughout the preconstruction phase
Design Manager - You:
- Commercial awareness
- An Architectural background would be an advantage
- Have an understanding of different Client procurement routes. Understanding of Regulations and Planning Permission procedures
- Experience of site/contract procedures would be an advantage
- Ability to organise, plan, programme and manage workloads
- Knowledge of operational/project delivery and site experience of major schemes
- High degree of commercial awareness
- Ability to build relationships and interact effectively with all stakeholders
- Effective at presentations and group meetings
- Have vision, commitment and enthusiasm for change
