Job summary:

DLUHC's Rapid Response Team (RRT) is deployed across the Department onto the highest priority projects.

We inject specialist support and response focus into planned peaks of activity or unexpected crisis situations as well as supporting DLUHC in delivering against its key priorities.

Individuals in the RRT are deployed for 3-4 months at a time.

Deployments are varied and range from working with local government and partners to ensure successful delivery of government programmes, through to the shaping and delivery of policy across areas such as homelessness, building safety, planning regulations or housing programmes as well as the wider Levelling Up missions.

Since its formation over two years ago, the RRT have provided surge resource to deliver successful outcomes across the highest priority response work including working with Local Government to procure housing for refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine, as well as the Covid-19 response.

We are looking for a dynamic, resilient leader who can work at pace, delivering impact and contributing to the success of the RRT.

As a Grade 7 (G7) in the RRT you will be deployed to priority projects across the department as well as holding responsibilities for team cohesion and collaboration within the RRT, and potentially line management.

The team is based in Birmingham and Wolverhampton.

We work in accordance with DLUHC's smarter working model (a mix of 40% office working each week on average and home working).

The teams we support are based across UK locations so there may be a need for you to travel to work directly with them at times.

This is an exciting and varied role that will provide you with the ability to influence and deliver key priorities for central and local government.

We welcome people from any sector or background to play a key role in developing and delivering our part of the government's policy agenda.
