Greater Manchester Police, Legal Services - Employment and Civil Litigation Teams.

Greater Manchester Police is one of the UK's largest police forces and is responsible for keeping people safe across more than 1,200 sq km.

The Force covers the Manchester, Salford, Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan areas.

GMP's officers and staff work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to keep almost three million people safe.

The Force has 11 geographical policing areas known as Districts that ensure it provides the best possible service to people who live, work and visit Greater Manchester.

The Civil Litigation Unit in Legal Services comprises solicitors, paralegals and claims handlers who act on behalf of the Chief Constable in the defence of civil claims brought by members of the public and GMP officers and staff.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Unit in a role which provides a critical legal support function. You will be responsible for delivering claims handling and investigative support to the team.

You will have at least a basic knowledge of civil litigation and an ability to organise, prioritise and to work accurately under pressure, recognising the importance of the appropriate handling of information, confidentiality and data protection.

GMP is an Equal Opportunities employer.

GMP operates an Agile Working Policy promoting a work life balance.
