BASED INVERGOWRIE/DUNDEE SALARY TO £23-26,000 AND GREAT BENEFITS

Have you ever wanted to work for a company doing something truly incredible, disruptive and working for the greater good of planet Earth? Well, here is your chance.

Intelligent Growth Solutions (IGS) was founded in 2013 and has brought together decades of farming and engineering experience to create an Agritech business with a vision to revolutionise the indoor growing market.

Employing over 200 staff, IGS is now in full scale up mode with an ambitious and aggressive recruitment plan to help fuel their commercial growth.

The business runs five fully functional indoor Vertical Farming Towers at the James Hutton Institute in Invergowrie (close to Dundee).

Ongoing commercial growth means we now need to recruit a Farm Operative.

Reporting into the Farm Operations Manager, the Farm Operative will be part of the operations team, which is an integral part of our team at the Crop Research Centre (CRC).

Your key responsibilities include daily tasks such as cleaning and general housekeeping, maintaining crops in our vertical farm, part of our crop process (sowing, germinating, launching, and harvesting), data collection of crops before and after harvest, dealing with our long-term crops and supporting and working alongside our plant science team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for housekeeping and site orderliness.
  • Cleaning the tower equipment & fertigation tanks.
  • Carrying out and leading deep cleaning operations when required.
  • Handling crop trial process sowing and germination.
  • Crops Maintenance (cleaning, trimming) ensuring the health of the crops.
  • Collecting Data from the trials.
  • Handling crop trial process (Harvesting).
  • Substrate preparation and Fertilizer/Nutrients preparation.
  • Troubleshooting for our User Interface and providing our Customer Care team with feedback.

This represents an incredible opportunity to "give something back" and be part of a culture that believes in genuine teamwork, sustaining excellence, values courageous honesty, wants people to feel good and enjoys seeing their people and the business win.

An excellent base salary (to £23-26,000 DOE) is complemented by a comprehensive benefits package, complete with training and self development grants and flexible working solutions.
