We are now working closely with one of our established clients to recruit for a Packaging Technologist based between Thirsk and Northallerton.


The successful person will be responsible for executing and delivering packaging projects that will lead to continuous improvement in both product design and performance.

This will include the co-ordination of trials alongside other members of the packaging team.

You will ensure all packaging information is up to date and aligned with business, legislative and BRC requirements.

Work cross-functionally across the business to facilitate the initial approval and ongoing review of packaging suppliers and provide support for all packaging queries and information requests.


Main duties and responsibilities of the role are but not limited to the following:

  • Support the Packaging Manager in maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of packaging legislation and technology relevant to Cawingredients processes.
  • Manage new and ongoing packaging projects and timelines, both internally and externally, liaising with suppliers and customers as required.
  • Coordinate and manage the approval of packaging suppliers and offsite storage facilities. Carry out visits and audits if required. Training to be provided as necessary.
  • Coordinate and manage packaging analysis (including migration).
  • Support Quality, Technical and Production teams on daytoday queries, as and when required. This may include supporting and troubleshooting in respect of packaging Non-Conformances.
  • Organise and attend supplier progress and performance reviews, as required.
  • Create internal trial and Caw validation protocols for new / updated packaging, accounting for legislative requirements, and liaising with both suppliers and customers as appropriate.
  • Support the Packaging & Projects Manager in reviewing new equipment and packaging processes and developing associated test methods.
  • Carry out internal audits according to agreed schedule.
  • A good knowledge of packaging processes.
  • An understanding of all packaging components, manufacturing processes and performance.
  • An understanding of packaging specifications, drawings, and artworks.
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly, with a genuine desire to develop skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask workloads.
  • Must be a team player and demonstrate successful experience working in a cross functional team environment.
  • Good standard of written and verbal communication.
  • Friendly enthusiastic, positive nature with a 'can do' attitude.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£34,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
