Description
To develop and provide a complementary therapy service that offers holistic and individually tailored care to Patient's and carers in the cancer setting (inpatients and outpatients) working primarily on Eden.
You will be responsible for the day to day organization of this service, working flexibly.- As the specialist provide advice and guidance to the Trust on the suitability and appropriateness of each type of complementary therapy in line with Thames Valley Cancer Network guidance on complementary and creative therapy.
- As a practicing therapist, provide one or more therapies for patients and carers.
- Undertake a formal assessment of referred patients/clients in accordance with previously agreed policies/protocols and throughout their care continuum to ensure the appropriate complementary care is provided according to need or change in condition.
- Prioritise and manage complementary therapy referrals and coordinate the workload
- Ensure a robust referral, assessment, review and discharge process is in place in order to effectively manage the service and patient outcomes including patient
- Build relationships across the MDT's and work collaboratively across all areas to promote and develop the integration of
- Work collaboratively with oncology and haematology teams to ensure that patients and their families/carers receive timely and appropriate complementary care in order to facilitate health, recovery, rehabilitation and/or a dignified death in any clinical facility within the hospital.
As well as delivering excellent general hospital services to local people, we provide specialist heart attack, vascular, stroke, spinal, cystic fibrosis and plastic surgery services across a much wider area.
We have three main hospitals - Frimley Park in Frimley near Camberley, Heatherwood in Ascot and Wexham Park near Slough.
