Cost Estimating is a vital part of what we do, ensuring the delivery of significant projects to our customers, on budget and on time.

We have a fantastic opportunity for you within DE&S, working in a well-established team of Cost Estimators and Cost Engineers.

You will have full support in the role, access to training opportunities and a commitment to developing your career.

This is your chance to become an integral member of a recognised high-performing and talented team, having delivered over seventy individual estimates in support of projects across the Land domain in the past year.

Working within Defence Munitions your day-to-day role will involve a diverse range of tasks including reviewing and producing estimates supporting Ministry of Defence (MoD) decisions, estimating the costs for work carried out by Defence Munitions in support of external customers (government and non-government), internal/industry modelling, and the possibility of leading a small team.

You will also find yourself building, reviewing, and populating cost models, along with undertaking cost risk/business analysis.

You will lead the cost estimating or cost modelling for medium to higher value or complexity projects, supporting business case development and investment decisions, options appraisal, and contributing to regular reviews of programme costs.

You will also act as a Cost Estimating Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing guidance to projects and support services.

We operate a hybrid working environment and the expectation is to attend the Yeovil site for a minimum of one day per week, however this will depend on business need.

There is also the opportunity for occasional regional travel to other Defence Munitions & DE&S sites, dependent on business needs.

Whilst this advert is specifically for a role within Defence Munitions, DE&S offers rich and diverse career paths and there is the opportunity to be deployed in our Helicopters teams as well as other project teams across the Enterprise.
