About this opportunity


We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Sales Director specialising in Embedded Finance, who will have responsibility for launching and growing a new Customer Point of Sale proposition into market to our merchant client base as a new payment solution for their business.


We're looking to expand our product set to offer our merchant client base an Embedded Finance solution, which is a growing product in the UK market, opportunities to provide financial services propositions to their customers as alternative ways to pay at check out.


The Role:


This is a role that matters as you'll define and implement new client sales strategies whilst leading and developing a successful team to grow market share with a strong focus on UK&I.


You'll work in partnership with colleagues across the bank network to nurture and build a pipeline of opportunities aligned to our product target sectors and targets as well as crafting opportunities in the market.

What would you be doing?

  • Responsible for defining and implementing the new client acquisition strategy and formulate the appropriate tactical and operational plans to achieve the commercial plan.
  • To be client facing, leading strategic sales opportunities, and the virtual bid team whilst coordinating multiple partners.
  • Building the New Acquisition sales function; identifying new talent and implementing a sales training methodology across the entire function.
  • Constantly review and understand sales pipelines and business opportunities, redirecting focus where necessary, and reporting to senior management on progress and performance against individual and team targets.
  • Segment customer groups by target customer type, (eCommerce v F2F), product offering, geography and operating model, developing gotomarket approaches appropriate to each.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional leaders to combine market research, user insights, and product vision to drive strategic decision making and evolve the product offering to remain ahead of the market.
  • Develop short, medium, and longterm sales plans based on payments strategies and work cross functionally with finance, compliance, marketing & product, to achieve those goals.

What you'll need:

  • Substantial relevant industry experience selling Embedded Finance and preferably experience of selling Acquiring and/or Gateway solutions with a proven competence in communicating payment technology and payment service concepts
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching skills and experience of managing corporate sales teams
  • Experience in formulating and driving longterm strategic account plans and opportunity pipelines
  • Proven experience in developing compelling sales propositions for, and establishing effective commercial relationships with channel and strategic partners
  • Ability to successfully manage sales deals through the sales process, negotiation, and contract signature, both independently and in collaboration with colleagues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to engage with all partners, internal, external, executive management, and corporate leaders.
