Job Description:
Reporting to the Engineering Leader the Process Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for Shift based technical staff and their performance to safety, quality, delivery and cost targets.
A people leadership position, the key aim of the role is to improve the effectiveness of the technical teams' performance by development of the technical staff competencies and implementation of improvements to shift based processes and ways of working.
The role will have responsibility for a team of Engineering Technicians as direct reports with a further team of Technicians working under these directs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure Machinery is maintained to its original standard to drive improvements to MTBF (Mean time between Failure)
Improve problem solving abilities to drive down MTTR (Mean Time to Repair)
Support and embed safe ways of working.
Support the Technical escalation procedure and ensure escalation root causes are closed out reduced overall escalations.
Lead and develop the Shift Engineers and Technicians. Identify skills shortages, create and drive plans to fill knowledge gaps.
Take ownership of the technician skills matrix to measure and improve team performance.
Drive standard work improvements for technical work processes.
Work with the Zone to and Process Engineers to drive line performance improvements.
Create a succession pipeline and identify career pathways for team members.
Improve Voice of Associate score through increased technical engagement.
EXPERIENCE
High speed automated Manufacturing experience is preferred. Experience of Lean methodologies would also be an advantage.
QUALIFICATIONS
Min NVQ Level 2 Engineering
CMI level 3 or above
